The final Northern Knights practice game was abandoned after nine overs of the second innings when the rain arrived at Wallace Park on Friday.
After the third game was wiped out due to bad weather, this was the final chance for many to state their case for Knights selection ahead of the Inter-Pro’s getting underway in August.
The first side that batted finished on 136/6 from their 20 overs with Instonians batsman Marcus Poskitt (31) top-scoring while Neil Rock contributed 30.
Shane Getkate (20), who scored 50* in the Leinster Lightning practice game on Thursday, and CJ van der Walt (20*) were the other two that reached double figures.
Waringstown’s Morgan Topping (2-6) bowled a productive two overs while there was one wicket apiece for Ruhan Pretorius, Josh Manley and Carl Robinson.
In reply, Ross Adair (40* from 26) continued his superb start to the season and he is the one that will give head coach Simon Johnston the most to think about for his main squad after the three matches.
Adair also scored 89 from 56 deliveries at Shaws Bridge last week and his game is perfectly suited to the shortest format.
His opening partner David Miller (20) was the only wicket (lbw off the bowling of van der Walt) to fall before bad weather forced the game’s premature end with their innings sitting at 70/1.
