CIYMS wicketkeeper-batsman Chris Dougherty has been named as the Robinson Services and D&P Cricket Player of the Week after scoring 80* off 60 deliveries in his side’s 75-run Robinson Services Cup win against Lisburn on Saturday.
Dougherty scored 916 runs last season as CIYMS collected four trophies and it looks like the 32-year-old is picking up from where he left off in this campaign.
He shared an opening partnership of 103 with John Matchett (42) and would bat the whole innings, hitting five fours and two sixes, to help CIYMS set a winning total of 156/2.
In the second innings, he took two catches – one off Nigel Jones and another off Jacob Mulder as the Belmont side continued their winning start to the season.
That performance earns Dougherty a £50 voucher to spend on equipment at D&P Cricket.
